Go Skateboarding Day
Celebrado todo ano em 21 de junho, o Go Skateboarding Day reúne skatistas do mundo inteiro em suas cidades, numa grande celebração da cultura do skate pelas ruas, pistas e praças — com criatividade, atitude e muito skate.
Criado em 2004 pela IASC (International Association of Skateboard Companies), o GSD nasceu com uma missão simples: mostrar o lado verdadeiro do skate, quebrar barreiras e fortalecer a cena. A data foi escolhida a dedo — é o solstício de verão no hemisfério norte, o dia mais longo do ano. Perfeito pra estender o rolê até escurecer.
Mais do que um evento, o GSD é um convite: larga tudo e vai andar de skate. Vale sozinho, com os amigos, num evento ou num pico qualquer. O que importa é manter a essência viva e seguir celebrando essa cultura que transforma concreto em liberdade.
Held every year on June 21st, Go Skateboarding Day brings skaters together across cities around the world in a massive celebration of skate culture — taking over streets, parks, and plazas with creativity, attitude, and a whole lot of skateboarding.
Created in 2004 by the IASC (International Association of Skateboard Companies), GSD was born with a simple mission: to show the true side of skateboarding, break down barriers, and strengthen the scene. The date was carefully chosen — it’s the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest day of the year. Perfect for keeping the session going until sunset.
More than just an event, GSD is an open invitation: drop everything and go skate. Whether solo, with your crew, at a big jam or just hitting a local spot — what matters is keeping the spirit alive and celebrating a culture that turns concrete into freedom.
